MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is launching a new traveling exhibits program.

The program, dubbed Marching Across the State, allows organizations such as universities and nonprofit groups to rent exhibits or show them for free.

The program includes four exhibits, including exhibits on military mascots; non-combat roles for military personnel; charcoal sketches completed by Santos Zingale while aboard the U.S.S. Bremerton during World War II; and watercolor paintings John Gaddis produced while serving with the 12th Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will host the mascots exhibit at the Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery in Platteville from Oct. 28 through Nov. 21. UW-Whitewater will host the non-combat roles exhibit at the Roberta Fiskum Art Gallery in Whitewater from Nov. 11 through Nov. 20.
