NEW CASTLE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a body found in a Westchester County preserve is believed to be that of a man missing since Monday.

The body was discovered in Glazier Preserve in New Castle on Thursday.

The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1vxm2s1 ) reports that while authorities believe the remains belong to Miles Applebaum no definitive identification has been made.

The 21-year-old man was last seen leaving his home in Armonk in a green Volvo. Police discovered the car Wednesday in a parking lot off Whippoorwill Road near the 44-acre park.

The body was found around 6 p.m. Thursday by a state forest ranger.

Applebaum was a student at Temple University.

Police say the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
