VAIL, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have arrested an Eagle County sheriff’s deputy accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a vacant warehouse.

The Vail Daily reports (https://bit.ly/1sSz0Us ) 42-year-old Timothy Joseph Hay was arrested without incident at his Gypsum home Friday.

The woman told investigators she was driving Hay home after drinking at a bar Sept. 18 when Hay asked her to pull over at a warehouse near the Eagle County airport. Hay is accused of slamming the woman’s head to the ground and sexually assaulting her.

Hay, who has declined to talk to investigators, has been placed on administrative leave from the sheriff’s office pending the outcome of the case. He moved to Eagle County in 1995 and joined the department in 2003.

Hay was off duty at the time of the alleged assault.
