BANGOR, Maine (AP) - A Gardiner man who robbed the same Augusta pharmacy twice in three days last year has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison.

In addition to three years and a month behind bars, Ryan McLaughlin was also sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Bangor to three years of probation and ordered to pay almost $2,000 in restitution for medical bills sought by a pharmacy employee who says she “fell apart” after being robbed twice.

The Kennebec Journal (https://bit.ly/1BDaiWQ ) reports that the 27-year-old McLaughlin pleaded guilty to the charges in April.

Prosecutors say McLaughlin demanded prescription painkillers when he robbed an Osco pharmacy at 12:20 p.m. on Nov. 11 and again at 12:25 p.m. on Nov. 13. He blamed his actions on addiction.
