SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Industrialist and philanthropist Jon Huntsman Sr. is releasing a new autobiography that tells the story of how he went from growing up poor to being one of the richest and most powerful men in Utah.

The 77-year-old Huntsman said Friday at a news conference in Salt Lake City that he’s worked with four authors over the last 30 years to document his stories.

He discusses his personal and business triumphs in the book, but he also opens up about several hardships. Those include the 1987 kidnapping of his son and the 2010 death of his daughter, who struggled for years with an eating disorder.

Huntsman said he published it now in part because he’s concerned about his health and wanted to complete his goal of finishing the book.
