BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a woman whose body was found near a Buffalo park say she has been identified as a 52-year-old city resident.

Police tell local media that Jerald Goldsmith’s death is being investigated as a homicide, but investigators aren’t releasing details on how she died.

Goldsmith’s body was found Wednesday morning on steps leading to Masten Park on the city’s east side.

Her family told WIVB-TV that Goldsmith was a mother of seven who worked at the University of Buffalo cleaning offices and dorm rooms on the overnight shift.
