PLUMMER, Idaho (AP) - A manhunt is on in northern Idaho for a fugitive police say fired shots at officers following a pursuit near Plummer.

The Benewah County Sheriff’s Office tells KHQ-TV (https://bit.ly/1nTG3u7) that John Crispin fled from Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police at about 11:20 a.m. Friday.

Authorities say police chased Crispin north on U.S. Highway 95 for several miles until he fired shots at them and fled on foot into the countryside.

Police from several agencies are at the scene attempting to track Crispin.

Authorities say Crispin is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service, and that his history includes firearms violations, aggravated assaults, battery and resisting a police officer.
