SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer for an Albany-area department has been suspended after he got into an off-duty fight with on-duty officers from a neighboring municipality.

The Daily Gazette of Schenectady reports (https://bit.ly/1rSASKH ) that officers in Schenectady were called to a home early Thursday morning for a report of a domestic dispute.

Officers say when they arrived, Vincent Stone initially refused to let them in. Police say after the officers got inside, Stone became combative and had to be physical restrained, causing one of the officers to sustain a back injury.

Stone was charged with felony assault. He’s an eight-year veteran of the Rotterdam Police Department. Officials there say he has been suspended without pay.

Stone was released on bail. He’s due back in court Friday morning. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
