CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - Officials say a power failure has led to the dumping of thousands of gallons of wastewater into the Cedar River at Cedar Falls.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1pw5k8E ) that the power failure occurred early Thursday, resulting in the release of 150,000 gallons of non-disinfected wastewater between about 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Officials say there was no fish kill from the spill.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says it’s monitoring the discharge.
