LAS VEGAS (AP) - Organizers of a major country music this weekend are the latest to take a chance attracting festivalgoers to Sin City.

The three-day Route 91 Festival starts Friday in Las Vegas and features performances from country music star couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, as well as singer Jason Aldean.

Other big-name performers on the lineup include Dwight Yoakam, Dierks Bentley and Brantley Gilbert.

The name Route 91 harkens back to when the U.S. route was where Las Vegas Boulevard is today.

Festival grounds are set up in a parking lot owned by MGM Resorts International across from the Luxor resort’s pyramid. MGM partnered with concert producer Live Nation.

Three-day pass prices started at $199 and were still available. Organizers wouldn’t say how many tickets had been sold as of Friday.
