TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Lab results show that the San Pedro River in Arizona has not been contaminated by a copper mine spill in northern Mexico, according to a news release.

Results from water samples taken by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality from the San Pedro River Watershed were normal.

But results from tests conducted by the International Boundary and Water Commission are still pending.

Last week, Mexican officials issued a binational alert that contaminated water had made its way into a stream that leads to the San Pedro River and could potentially reach the river in Arizona. The river runs north to Pinal County in Arizona.
