INCHEON, South Korea (AP) - Asian Games hammer throw winner Zhang Wenxiu of China was disqualified and stripped of her gold medal after a positive doping test on Friday.

Zhang tested positive for the banned anabolic agent zeranol and its metabolite, which are mainly used on cattle to gain weight. The test was on Friday, a day before the athletics events started.

The 28-year old Zhang won her third consecutive Asian Games gold in Incheon with a personal best of 77.33 meters.

The Olympic Council of Asia said it disqualified Zhang and withdrew her gold medal.

It was the sixth doping violation at the games, which end on Saturday.
