CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say a welder was killed and another worker was injured when an oil tank exploded west of Cheyenne.

Rita Martin, a secretary at Tri State Oil Reclaimers, tells The Casper Star-Tribune the welder was working on top of the tank when it exploded Thursday morning. Another worker who witnessed the blast was being treated at a hospital, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.

The victims’ names and ages have not been released.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports fire and rescue crews from nearly a dozen agencies responded to the blaze, which was eventually extinguished using fire suppression foam.
