ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say two firefighters are recovering from injuries they suffered while battling a blaze in the city’s Buckhead neighborhood.

Atlanta Fire Rescue spokeswoman Janet Ward said firefighter Spurgeon Putnam was hospitalized in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital after the Thursday morning blaze.

Ward says Putnam was injured when he fell about 20 feet from the roof of the building and is being kept in the hospital overnight for observation. Ward says a second firefighter, Josh Martinson, suffered minor burns to his shoulders and has been released from the hospital.

Details on what caused Putnam to fall from the building’s roof weren’t immediately available and no other injuries were reported.
