NEW YORK (AP) - Police say two teenage boys have been arrested on charges they raped two girls in a Bronx junior high school auditorium.

Police said Thursday the 12- and 13-year-old girls were taken to an isolated part of the auditorium at the school after lunchtime on Oct. 16 and attacked.

Authorities were called and the girls were taken to a hospital.

The boys, ages 13 and 14, are charged as juveniles and their names were not released. The 14-year-old pleaded not guilty at a criminal court arraignment. A call to his lawyer wasn’t returned.

At one point, the defendant said: “Let’s switch bodies,” according to a criminal complaint.

The 13-year-old’s case was referred to the city’s family court division.

A call to the education department was not immediately returned.
