ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A second San Juan County woman has pleaded guilty in the killing of a woman whose body was thrown off a cliff.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Mexico says 22-year-old Mariah Benally pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder in the Oct. 23, 2013 killing of 28-year-old Gabrielle Joe.

A co-defendant, 27-year-old LaSheena Jacquez, previously has pleaded guilty in the case.

Benally and Jacquez are both from Kirtland and were among five people indicted in the case.

Benally admitted helping kill Joe by throwing rocks her after she was stabbed.

The victim was reported missing in November and her body was found Dec. 9.

Sentencings haven’t been scheduled for Benally and Jacquezy. The other three defendants have pleaded not guilty and await trial.
