PLAINFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Vermont Telephone Company has dropped plans for a telecommunications tower in Plainfield, saying it was “kicked out” by the town.

The Times Argus reports (https://bit.ly/1sK02ql the town opposed the tower’s construction as not in compliance with the town plan.

The Springfield-based company was planning to build the tower about 2,000 feet from a similar one owned by Cloud Alliance, a local provider of broadband service.

Vermont Telephone had explored co-locating on Cloud Alliance’s tower, but said that presented problems.
