PINEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An inmate has been charged with escaping from a state prison in eastern Kentucky.

WYMT-TV in Hazard reported (https://bit.ly/106zmcC ) that 48-year-old Bobby L. Murray Jr. walked away from the Bell County Forestry Camp near Pineville in May.

They found him a few hours later about five miles away.

Murray is charged with second degree escape and being a first degree persistent felony offender.

Murray was serving time for burglary and wanton endangerment charges.

The Kentucky Parole Board deferred his bid for release in June for 24 months.
