LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The Fayette County coroner says an investigation has begun after human remains were found near a busy roadway in Lexington.

Media report the remains were found Wednesday night near Citation Boulevard. Coroner Gary Ginn says officials found a skull, a pelvis, some teeth and clothes in a wooded area near the road. Police were searching on Thursday for more remains in the area.

Ginn says it appears the remains have been there for at least six months. He says it’s too early to determine a cause of death.
