ALCOA, Tenn. (AP) - A North Carolina man has been charged with luring a woman to Tennessee under the pretense of hiring her for a job advertised online.

Alcoa Police Detective Sgt. Kris Sanders told The Daily Times (https://bit.ly/10C9sP6 ) that a woman told investigators that 50-year-old Robert Levan McCollum of Davidson, North Carolina, drugged her and tried to sexually assault her.

Sanders said the woman responded to an ad on Craig’s List for a doctor seeking a personal assistant. The man arranged an interview at an Alcoa hotel on Oct. 26. The woman went to his room to continue the interview. She said he mixed her a drink that made her woozy.

The woman refused a medical examination.

McCollum was being held on a $50,000 bond. Jail records did not list an attorney.
