NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee State University officials are pledging to increase security on and around the north Nashville campus of the school after two freshmen were shot in an attempted robbery.

The school’s deputy police chief, Anthony Carter, told The Tennessean (https://tnne.ws/1sMeaPQ)both students were accosted Wednesday night.

Nashville police have taken over the investigation into the incidents and are searching for at least two people described by the students.

University President Glenda Glover says one student was being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but she didn’t know the student’s medical status. A second student was grazed by a bullet.

TSU did not release the names or ages of the students.
