MARS, Pa. (AP) - State police say it appears a woman has been shot, though an infant was found unharmed, when troopers were called to a western Pennsylvania home.

Police aren’t releasing many details about what they found or why they were called to the home in Adams Township, Butler County. That’s about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police say they were called to the home about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

So far, they say a 42-year-old woman has been found dead, though a 5-month-old baby in the house was safe.

Investigators remained on the scene Thursday morning.
