MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - A pregnant 22-year-old Muskegon woman has agreed to stand trial on an open murder charge in the steak knife stabbing of the father of her 6-year-old daughter.

Police say that Shondrea Parker got in an argument with 24-year-old Calvin Webb and stabbed him in the chest Oct. 16.

She appeared in district court Thursday and waived her right to a show-cause hearing. That sends the case to Muskegon County Circuit Court.

An open murder charge means a jury can consider convicting her on either a first- or a second-degree murder charge.

The Muskegon Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1rDOPYe ) reports that county public defender Fred Johnson says Parker is six months’ pregnant, and Webb is the father.

They were 12 and 14 when they started dating, and his name is tattooed on her wrist.
