LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Authorities in Calcasieu Parish believe skeletal remains found in a tent in Lake Charles are those of a 52-year-old Oklahoma man.

KPLC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1wloioS) Lake Charles police and Calcasieu sheriff’s deputies were searching for a shoplifter Tuesday night in a wooded area when they came upon the tent. The remains were found inside.

The parish coroner’s office identified the body as Thomas Wynn based on personal articles found in the tent. Other information about the man was not immediately available.

The coroner’s office says foul play is not suspected in his death. It was unclear how long the body had been there.

Police spokesman Mark Kraus said officers were searching for a suspect in a Walmart shoplifting incident when they found the tent in the 2600 block of Dillard Loop.
