ATLANTA (AP) - Gov. Nathan Deal has raised about $1 million during the last few weeks of his re-election bid, while Democratic opponent Jason Carter raised about $1.1 million.

The Carter campaign said it will report about $238,000 in cash for the Atlanta state senator’s final pitch to voters before Tuesday’s election. The results bring his total raised to about $8 million.

The Deal campaign said it will report $1.13 million in cash, bringing his total raised to about $15.3 million. The campaign says much of that cash paid for ad buys during the last week.

Reports were due Friday as the candidates continue traveling the state.

Deal’s last filing reported about $125,000 designated for a Dec. 2 runoff. A candidate must win more than 50 percent on Tuesday to prevent that.
