SAN DIEGO (AP) - A former San Diego day-care operator has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of an 11-month-old boy who was being cared for at the now-closed facility.

U-T San Diego reports (https://bit.ly/13oVTUc) 38-year-old James Patrick Nemeth was taken into custody Thursday.

He is accused in the death of Louis Michael Oliver. The child suffered head and spine trauma at the home-based day care in Clairemont on May 23, 2012. He died the next day at a hospital.

Police say the investigation has been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office Family Protection Unit.

The newspaper says Nemeth is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in San Diego Superior Court.
