SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a Utah man is accused of setting fire to an unoccupied home in southwest South Dakota.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Department says 33-year-old Shawn Hall was charged with 2nd degree arson shortly after the Friday morning fire near Wasta.

Authorities say it wasn’t known if Hall had retained an attorney on Friday.

Authorities say Hall was arrested after witnesses reported the fire and the presence of a man near the burning building.

Fire departments from Wall and Wasta extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
