BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A group of hunters found a man’s body in a sport utility vehicle that went off the road in northeastern Montana more than a month ago and rolled down a steep embankment, landing on its top.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the hunters spotted the wrecked vehicle on Thursday north of Glasgow, but officers estimate the crash happened on Sept. 19.

Valley County Sheriff Glenn Meier tells The Billings Gazette (https://bit.ly/1rHgtU8 ) the victim was 52-year-old Kevin Arell Coverdell. Family members had reported him missing.

Meier says Coverdell had recent addresses in Glasgow; Rock Springs, Wyoming and Makoti, North Dakota and had most recently worked as a seasonal ditch mower for Valley County.

The patrol says Coverdell’s SUV went off a county road, hit and old piece of farm equipment and went over the embankment.
