UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Prince George’s County police are warning parents after they seized several boxes of candy infused with marijuana.

Lt. Bill Alexander said Friday that all of the candy was labeled as having THC and was headed to Laurel from the West Coast and Colorado.

The candy included taffy and chocolate bars, and had about 100 milligrams of THC. It also included warning labels urging consumers not to eat it all in one sitting.

Alexander says there’s no evidence that the candy was planned to be passed out to children on Friday for Halloween.

He says police wanted to warn parents to be on the lookout for such products just in case, saying it would be easy to confuse the marijuana treats with real candy.

Police are declining to release further details.
