SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah residents unsure about wood burning bans or heavy pollution this winter can whip out their smartphone for daily alerts.

Utah’s Division of Air Quality is reminding residents they can download an app, Utah Air, that sends alerts on burn bans and air quality forecasts.

The app is available for both Android and iOS operating systems.

Air quality officials say wood burning restrictions go into effect Nov. 1.
