DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - An Ottumwa man faces charges of possession and distribution of child pornography in federal court after a grand jury indicted him.

Court documents say 26-year-old Jeremy D. Pilcher was arrested Thursday and a public defense attorney represented him before a judge on Friday. His next court date is Nov. 6.

Court documents say a DeWitt police officer, working with an internet crimes against children task force traced photos and videos to Pilcher’s computer in Ottumwa.

Pilcher, who also goes by Jeremy Youker, has a previous sex offense conviction and is listed on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

His attorney, public defender Diane Helphrey, did not immediately respond to a message.

Iowa Department of Corrections records show Pilcher is being held for a sex offender registration violation as of Thursday.
