OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police have released the names of two officers who fatally shot a man who was reportedly holding a weapon.

Police said Friday that Sgts. Michael Levescy and Matthew Gilmore shot 54-year-old Steven Keith Watters at the end of a 12-minute chase Thursday.

Police say the chase began when Metro Fugitive Task Force Officers tried to serve a warrant to Watters. They say he was in a vehicle with a woman who drove away when officers approached them.

The chase ended at Draper Park after officers deployed spike strips. Police say Watters ran from the vehicle before producing a weapon and that the officers then shot him.

Police say the woman was initially taken into custody, but later released.

Levescy and Gilmore are on administrative leave pending an investigation.
