COTTER, Ark. (AP) - A northern Arkansas man has been arrested after authorities say he punched two deputies in the face.

The Baxter Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/1yLKGHt ) the 29-year-old Cotter man is facing two counts of second-degree battery, resisting arrest and violating probation. He hasn’t been charged.

Sheriff John Montgomery says the deputies responded to the suspect’s mother’s house after she called 911 to say her son was drunk and wouldn’t leave. Authorities told the man he had violated his probation and that he would be arrested.

Montgomery says the man hit one deputy in the face and the other in the eye. They didn’t seek medical attention.

The man was arrested and taken to jail.
