HIALEAH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida man is accused of going on an arson spree that included tossing a firebomb into his neighbor’s yard and torching seven cars.

Police say 51-year-old Armando Hernandez was arrested Wednesday night after a police detective who’d been trailing him saw him set fire to his girlfriend’s silver Jaguar that was parked in back of the couple’s home in Hialeah.

He is charged with eight counts each of arson and criminal mischief and possession of a firebomb.

Lt. Carl Zogby told the Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1tovWfM ) that police aren’t sure of his motives.

No injuries were reported during the spree which included tossing a molotov cocktail-like device into his neighbor’s patio.

He remains in jail on $157,000 bail. Jail records don’t indicate whether he’s hired an attorney.
