Lubbock police find body near apartments

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Lubbock police are investigating the death of a man found killed outside a vacant apartment complex.

Police say 32-year-old Ernest Turman’s body was found on a sidewalk at the Eagle Pointe Townhomes on Sunday. They responded to reports of gunshots.

They haven’t released Turman’s cause of death. A medical examiner is assisting with the investigation.

Witnesses tell police a man fled the scene on foot after the shooting.

Police are investigating.
