KINGWOOD, W.Va. (AP) - An advisory panel has been formed in Preston County to aid crime-fighting efforts.

The new county crime commission will bring together law enforcement to coordinate investigations and share information with the public.

County prosecutor Mel Snyder proposed the commission’s creation. He tells The Dominion Post (https://bit.ly/1vKTSuH ) that the commission’s long-term mission is to improve the criminal justice system.

The commission held a planning meeting on Monday. It will hold its first quarterly meeting on Jan. 5.
