WEST POINT, Ga. (AP) - Federal officials are investigating the death of a Kia assembly plant worker in west Georgia.

Details on how the worker was killed at the plant in West Point Tuesday morning haven’t been released and Kia officials said in a statement that the incident is under investigation.

Troup County Coroner Jeff Cook identified the worker as 57-year-old John Dunnivant of Lanett, Alabama. Details on Dunnivant’s official cause of death haven’t been released.

U.S. Department of Labor spokeswoman Lindsay Williams tells the Ledger-Enquirer of Columbus that representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the worker’s death.
