CHINO, Calif. (AP) - A six-vehicle crash involving several big-rig trucks has left one man with serious injuries and briefly shut down a freeway east of Los Angeles.

Authorities say four big-rigs, a pickup truck and a sedan were involved in the accident reported shortly before noon Wednesday on State Route 60 in Chino.

The sedan was sandwiched between two trucks. Firefighters used the jaws of life to pry a man in his 80s from the wreckage. Fire officials say the man had moderate to major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.

Two other people were treated for minor injuries.

The freeway was briefly shut down so a helicopter could land, backing up traffic for several miles.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
