MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say nine suspected Montgomery gang members have been arrested on drug and weapons charges.

Authorities say the gang members, ranging from 20 to 40 in age were arrested Wednesday for conspiring to distribute powder and crack cocaine, marijuana and using a firearm during a drug conspiracy.

Prosecutors say the arrests are the result of an investigation into the Vineyard Gang that began in 2010. Authorities say the gang members live and operate in an area of south Montgomery known as The Vineyard.
