NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Several businesses have closed after a fire broke out at a shopping center in the Newark area.

The News Journal (https://delonline.us/1rhn3jB ) reports the fire was reported about 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Shops at Red Mill. No injuries were reported.

Sarah Eum, the owner of Webb’s Cleaners, says the fire appears to have started in the ceiling of her business. She says she noticed the light fixture flicker and then saw flames in the ceiling.

Several businesses were forced to evacuate. Firefighters cut holes in the shopping center’s roof to extinguish the flames.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
