SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) - A former northern Idaho man who entered a plea agreement in a January 2007 shooting death says he was pressured by Florida police into making a false confession.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1oR7f7C) that Keith Allen Brown testified Tuesday in 1st District Court that his confession came after being told his former wife confessed to killing Leslie Carlton Breaw.

Brown testified Tuesday he was pressured by police to say he killed Breaw.

Brown wants the confession suppressed. An earlier attempt was rejected but the Idaho Court of Appeals ruled the state hadn’t proven the confession was voluntary.

Florida police deny coercing Brown to confess.

Brown is serving a 15-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter.
