CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - A Camp Lejeune Marine who pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a fellow Marine has been sentenced to two years in the brig.

Multiple media outlets report Lance Cpl. Brandon Little of Birmingham, Alabama, also received a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay and reduction in rank on Wednesday. Under a pre-trial agreement, Little will serve only two years confinement instead of the three years originally handed down.

Little pleaded guilty in a general court-martial Tuesday to involuntary manslaughter due to culpable negligence in the shooting death of 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Mark Boterf of Crowley, Texas.

Boterf died last April from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The bullet came from an M4 military rifle as Little and Boterf shared a guard shack at the base’s main entrance.
