INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is leading a one-day trade mission to Toronto.

The governor’s office says the delegation including state commerce secretary Victor Smith and state utility officials has meetings Wednesday with a venture capital firm considering investing in Indiana companies, Ontario Prime Minister Kathleen Wynne and the U.S. consul general.

Pence also is to host an event at the season opener of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs for site-selection consultants and companies considering Indiana investments.

The group is scheduled to return Wednesday night.

The governor’s office says nearly 15,000 Indiana residents work for Canadian-owned companies and nearly 200,000 jobs depend on trade and investment with Canada. Canada also is the state’s largest export partner, with nearly $12 billion of Indiana-built products heading north of the border last year.
