DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a man has dropped off a newborn baby at a family medicine clinic in Des Moines.

Des Moines police say they received a report Wednesday morning about a man who entered the clinic and told staff the baby was just born at a bus stop. The man then left the clinic.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports (https://bit.ly/1CVtUbc ) the baby was later taken to Blank Children’s Hospital.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jason Halifax says there is no indication of criminal activity at this point. The case is being turned over to the state Department of Human Services.
