PELHAM, Ala. (AP) - The search for a missing Tennessee scuba diver is continuing in a flooded quarry near Birmingham.

Pelham fire officials say they still haven’t found definite signs of 49-year-old Daren Gray of Spring Hill, Tennessee.

But searchers are following up on signs that showed up on sonar as they continue looking for the man in the water at Dive Alabama, located south of Birmingham.

The search began Saturday after Gray failed to show up after a dive that was supposed to last two hours.

The flooded quarry covers 27 acres and is as deep as 140 feet is places. Visibility is poor in spots.

Divers are now concentrating in the deepest water as they look for Gray. The site includes underwater dive platforms and submerged items including old vehicles.
