WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - A 69-year-old Wasilla man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Alaska State Troopers say Michael Wolverton is suspected of shooting his daughter, 47-year-old Shannon Wolverton.

Troopers in Palmer just before 11 p.m. Tuesday took a report of a shooting at a home and contacted Michael Wolverton.

Troopers say they found the body of Shannon Wolverton inside the home.

The body was sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy.

Michael Wolverton was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree murder and weapons misconduct.

He was jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility to await arraignment.
