SPANAWAY, Wash. (AP) - Pierce County deputies are investigating the death of a young mother whose body was found Tuesday at a home in Spanaway, Washington.

Four children - ages 1, 3, 4 and 7 - were in the home where the woman was killed. The children are OK.

The Pierce County medical examiner’s office identified the 28-year-old woman as Jennifer Reichardt but did not immediately determine how she died.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the victim died of trauma but he did not elaborate.

Court records show the woman was divorcing her husband of seven years and filed for an emergency restraining order against him in July.

The News Tribune (https://is.gd/aCHQRP) reports that Troyer says investigators have spoken with the estranged husband, and he is not a suspect in the death at this time.

A neighbor asked deputies to check on the home. They saw the children looking out the window. The children refused to open the door, so deputies forced their way inside and found the woman’s body. Troyer says the children apparently did not witness their mother’s death.

The home’s location was initially reported as the Frederickson area.
