COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A central Ohio woman told police she was dragged into the bushes off a walking trail, sexually assaulted and set on fire.

Columbus police say the woman, who is in her 20s, was in stable condition at a hospital Wednesday night with burns on her torso that are not life-threatening. Her attacker is being sought.

The woman said the attack happened Wednesday afternoon on the Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail on the city’s far east side.

Police say the attacker came out of the bushes on the trail, dragged her back into them and sexually assaulted her. Then he poured a flammable liquid on her and used a lighter to set her on fire.

The woman ran onto the trail and was spotted by a person who called 911.
