CHICAGO (AP) - Prosecutors say a 34-year-old Chicago man is facing child pornography charges after allegedly downloading thousands of images from the Internet.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said Wednesday that Charles Colford was being held on $125,000 bond after being charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors say investigators searched Colford’s apartment on Tuesday and found computer hard drives belonging to him that contained 1,200 images and 13 videos depicting children as young as 8 years old engaging in sex acts.

The investigation was conducted by the county’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Colford’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 28.
