PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence Democratic candidate for mayor Jorge Elorza says if he’s elected he’ll refuse campaign contributions from all city employees as a way to ensure transparency and integrity at City Hall.

Elorza on Thursday rolled out his ethics platform.

On Wednesday, The Associated Press reported that Cianci had taken donations from dozens of city employees, even though he told had told the audience at a mayoral forum that he hadn’t taken a dime from city workers, and did not intend to. Cianci denied ever taking such a pledge.

Elorza said if elected, he would for the first time impanel the city ethics commission so that it can write an ethics handbook. He also promised to require mandatory ethics training for all department heads.
